Michael C Watkins

Michael C Watkins

Co-Founder

Michael graduated early from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Accounting. After briefly working for a large public accounting firm he quit to start his first entrepreneurial venture, a title company, at the age of 22. He is still the president of that title company, and over the years he has gone on to found other companies including an investment newsletter and a mobile software company.

Michael’s first exposure to Bitcoin was in 2012 when he tried to find a partner that wanted to mine it. After not being able to find any willing partners, he moved on to other things. He first acquired Bitcoin in 2015, but after misunderstanding it, he sold out in 2017. In 2021 he went “down the rabbit hole” and while he is a graduate of the Saylor Academy Course, PRDV151: Bitcoin for Everybody, he still dedicates about 100 hours a month to learning and keeping up with the rapidly changing landscape.

Matt Berke

Co-Founder

Matt received his BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. After working in public accounting for a short time, Matt realized that he enjoyed the business and operations side of accounting and finance more than working for a CPA firm. Since taking on his first Controller role for a well-known Atlanta record producer at age 23, Matt has consistently progressed as a financial executive and entrepreneur for over 25 years. He has served as the Controller of a publicly held company, CFO of a successful apparel company, and for the past ten years has been a self-employed consultant providing CFO level services to small businesses. Matt also has extensive experience with Mergers & Acquisitions and has served as a manager of multiple private equity investment funds.
Matt’s first exposure to Bitcoin was around 2013, when Michael Watkins could not convince him to become a miner. It took until 2020 for him to understand it and realize the potential it has to change the nature of money as we know it. A graduate of the Saylor Academy course, “Bitcoin for Everybody”, Matt spends a lot of his free time researching, studying and analyzing the dynamic world of Bitcoin.
